Sculptures Interpreting the Natural Forces of Change

Artist Statement

I create site-responsive, gracefully formed commercial sculptures in kiln-formed glass, metal and mixed media. As an artist, my aim is to be acutely aware of changes taking place in our environment and lives and giving new form to that awareness. I am asking where or how does the individual fit into this vast network? In my point of view, buildings and art of the future will be their own “ecosystems” of activity and inner-connectivity, virtually and physically. My work can help define that eco-future for the good. At its best, my work sparks environmental connection and a unique view into time. I embrace the design process by working hand-in-hand with the built environment of architects and creative project teams. I begin my creative process with an analysis of the client site—opportunities, possibilities and constraints expressed by the creative team. Sculptural solutions emerge to suit the space and are rendered into the architectural images for the client to understand each idea. My sculptures qualify as 4-LEED and Living-Building approved, with most materials sourced regionally or recycled. For two decades I have managed large and small-scale installations throughout hospitals, corporate lobbies, libraries, hotels and private residences in Europe, Asia and North America. I earned a B.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design.
